Lara Parker, DARK SHADOWS’ Angelique, Passes Away draconicverses, October 17, 2023 Picture: Dan Curtis Prod. On October 12, actress Lara Parker passed away at the age of 84. She was best known for her portrayal of the Immortal Witch, Angelique, on the original DARK SHADOWS (1966-1971), as the lover-turned arch foe of the Vampire, Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid). Her popularity on the show kept producer Dan Curtis calling her up, asking her to return, despite the character being killed off several times. She recreated the role in the two feature films, HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS (1970) and NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS (1971). Other genre TV show appearances included playing a Witch in episode 14 of KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER (1974-1975), The Trevi Collection; and she played David Banner‘s (Bill Bixby) first wife, in the flashback of her death as the reason of his experiments in the TV movie/pilot of THE INCREDIBLE HULK (1977).
