Happy Anniversary, GODZILLA (2014)!

Ten years ago today, the much anticipated adaptation of GODZILLA, directed by Gareth Edwards & produced by Legendary, was released. Hailed by critics & audiences alike, this opened the gate to the MONSTERVERSE, which would contain numerous Kaiju (or Titans, as they’re called in the MV), both old and new. There were several Easter Eggs to give clues as to which other classic Toho Kaiju might appear in future films – who turned out to be MOTHRA, RODAN & KING GHIDRAH, in 2019’s GODZILLA – KING OF THE MONSTERS! The Monsterverse expanded to include KONG, in KONG: SKULL ISLAND (2017), leading to a meeting of the two Kings in GODZILLA VS KONG (2021) & to a team up in GODZILLA x KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE (2024). An Apple+ streaming exclusive, MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS premiered in 2023, with another season on the way.
